Action pane

The Action pane at the right of the main window lists all the different actions that you can take, based on your role. Some actions are always available for use, as they do not depend on your having selected a specific device. Other actions are available only when you have selected a device. When an action is not available, it appears in "faded" text.

The Action pane has two parts:

  • The Service panel lists the actions (the tasks) you can perform on or about the devices you service.

  • The Configuration panel lists actions having to do with configuration and administration. (To open this panel, click its header.) All users can use the Personal Configuration actions, while the System Configuration and Administration actions are reserved for administrators.

NOTE: The actions available for your use will vary depending on several factors, including your role. We show all actions here.

Above the Action pane are some important indicators, links, and buttons. Here you can see the name you used to sign into the system, a Refresh feature for setting an interval for automatically refreshing the window, a link for signing out, and the Help button for opening the online Help. You will also frequently see an animated progress indicator as data is retrieved from the database. When you see the progress indicator, wait until it disappear before continuing to ensure that all the data you need to see has been fully loaded.
