If your role is set to System Administrator, when you click Delete on the dialog for
certain system entities, this message opens to alert you that the entity
will be logically deleted (as in "unregistered"), but you can
elect instead to purge it from the database.
A deleted ("unregistered") entity is actually still present in the database. Leaving an entity in the database may be desirable in order to generate reports on historical data regarding that entity.
A purged entity is completely removed from the database. Once purged, it cannot be retrieved.
NOTE: As of Version 5.2, system administrators are permitted to purge device types, properties, and devices. For security purposes, users will never be allowed to be purged in order to maintain the integrity of historical audit logs.
