Group dialog

Use the Group dialog to add a new static group.

Fields

Name

Type the name of the new group (up to 100 characters). If you are creating a subgroup, its name must be unique within its parent group.


Best Practice for group names

Although it is possible to use duplicate names for groups that have different parent groups, you should avoid doing so. Having duplicate names could confuse users who have access to multiple groups with the same name. If using groups with the same name is important, consider adding the "full path" of the group to its description.

Description

Type a description of the new group (up to 255 characters).

Parent group

(Read-only) If you are creating a root group, this field shows "[root]". If you are creating a subgroup, this field shows the name of the parent group.
