New TotalAccess Connection dialog

Use the New TotalAccess Connection dialog to associate a TotalAccess connection for a device type. A TotalAccess connection specifies which type of client-server connection is supported for a device type.

Best Practice for
defining a device type's TotalAccess connections

TotalAccess connections can be made automatically for individual devices when the Service Agent starts up. This requires configuration options in the Service Agent that are only available in versions 4.1 and later. (See the Questra Service Agent™ System Integrator Guide for more information.) To avoid human error, we recommend that automatic configuration of TotalAccess connections for individual devices be used whenever possible. Manual configuration for a device type or a device is required when Service Agents prior to 4.1 are in the field.
