User Profile dialog

Use the User Profile dialog to keep information such as your email address or your phone number up to date. You can also use it to change your password. See Editing your profile.

NOTE: If you have user administration permission, you use this dialog when you add or edit users.

Profile tab fields

User

First name; Last name

Your first and last names.

Friendly Name

Your name as it will appear in lists and in reports.

Upload

Click this button to open the Upload from Your Computer dialog, where you can specify an image file of yourself to upload.


Best Practice for images

Valid file formats for user images are SWF (Flash) and non-interlaced JPG. The preferred format is SWF. The region dedicated to the user image is 120 x 120 pixels. You should scale the image to avoid the download time for an unnecessarily large picture file.

Company

The name of your company.

Description

A description of yourself.

User Name

The name you enter when signing into the system.

New password

Click this button to open the New Password dialog, where you can change your password.

Role

(Read-only) Your assigned role, such as Technician or Business Analyst.

NOTE: If you are an administrator and are adding or editing a user, select the role from the list.

Default group

The default group to which the context of Group view is set when you log in, as set up for you by a system administrator. To change it to a different group, click Edit to open the Assigned Groups dialog, where you can select a different group.

In future, if you need to reset the default group to your original one, click Delete . (This does not delete the group, but rather simply resets your default group.)

Email address

Your email address.

Phone number

Your phone number.

Address

Location

A designation for your address, such as "Main Office" or "Home Office."

 

Description

A description of your location, such as "Work address."

Address 1; Address 2;

City; State or Province; Postal Code

Your address.

Country

Your country.

Regional settings

Time Zone

Your time zone, or the time zone you want to use for data and time stamp information.

Locale

Your locale, which controls the format for date and time stamps. (Might also control localized labels and messages, if applicable to your system.)

Name

The name of the extended property, such as "Cell phone" or "Alternate email."

Value

The value of the property.
