Use the Users and Roles dialog to configure roles, permissions, and users.
Lists default and custom roles.
To add a new role, click Add
to open the Role dialog.
To edit a role, select it on the list and click Edit
to open the Role dialog.
To delete a role, select it on the list and click Delete

Application Administrator |
Able to affect all ongoing operational aspects of the system. |
Business Analyst |
Works outside of daily operations to identify business and device trends that affect the business. |
Default User |
The default role. |
Manager |
Responsible for successful operation of devices, with the permission for certain device-related tasks. |
SoftwareDirector Manager |
Responsible for the creation and management of configurations and software packages and the association of configurations to devices. Has overall responsibility for all device configurations. |
SoftwareDirector User |
Responsible for updating software on a device or a group of devices for which he or she has granted permission to manage. |
System Administrator |
Most trusted role, with ability to modify all aspects of the system. |
System Info View |
Able to view the system event logs, software version, and software license. Typically assigned to support personnel. |
Technician |
Responsible for the health and operation of a device, with the ability to affect device operations. |
Lists custom permissions.
To add a new permission, click
Add to open the Permission dialog.
To delete a permission, select it on the list and click
Delete .
To reload the security settings that will provide functionality
to anew permission, select its check box and then click Reload Security
Settings .
Lists all users associated with the groups that you own and of the selected role.
To add a new user, click
to open the User dialog.
To delete (actually "unregister") a user,
select the user on the list and click Delete .
NOTE: For security purposes, users cannot be deleted outright (that is, purged) in order to maintain the integrity of historical audit logs. Instead, they can be unregistered. Once unregistered, a user cannot be re-registered.
To search for users, click Search above the Users list to open the Search
dialog.
This tab shows the profile for the selected user. You can edit the profile here, as well as reset the user's password.
This tab shows any "extended properties" for the selected user. You can add and delete extended properties here.
This tab shows the groups for which the selected user is an owner. You can assign and unassign the user's group ownership here.
This tab shows the alerts that have been assigned to the selected user. You can assign and unassign (delete) the user's alerts here.
