Editing customers and contacts
Deleting customers and contacts
All configuration tasks for customers and contacts begin with the Customers dialog. To open it, locate the System Configuration tasks on the Action pane's Configuration panel and click Manage customers.
When you add a customer, you first define its basic profile (name, description, address, etc.). Once you've saved the new customer, you can then define the contacts for the customer (that is, the customer representatives with whom Questra IDM Application Suite users interact).
To define a customer's profile,
open the Customers dialog and click
Add to open the
Customer dialog. Complete the fields
and
click Add to save. The Customer
dialog closes, and the new customer appears in the Customers list on the
Customers dialog.
To define contacts, open the Customers
dialog and select the customer for whom you want to define contacts.
Switch to the Contacts tab
and click Add above
the Associated Contacts list. On the Contact
dialog, complete the fields and click Add
to save. The Contact dialog closes, and the new contact appears in the
Associated Contacts list on the Contacts tab of the Customers dialog.
Repeat to define additional contacts.
Editing customers and contacts
When editing a customer, you can change its profile (name, description, address, etc.), as well as any of the customer's contacts.
To edit a customer's profile,
open the Customers dialog and select
the customer you want to edit. After a few moments, that customer's data
appears on the Profile tab. Click Edit above the Customers list. On the Customer
dialog, change the fields as needed and click Add
to save.
To edit a contact, open the Customers
dialog and select the customer whose contact you want to edit. Switch
to the Contacts tab, select the contact you want to edit, and click Edit
above the Associated
Contacts list. On the Contact dialog,
change the fields as needed and click Add
to save.
Deleting customers and contacts
You can delete entire customers (including their contacts) or individual contacts.
CAUTION! If you plan to delete a customer for whose devices you have not individually supplied an address (that is, the devices use the customer's address), those devices will end up with no addresses.
To delete an entire customer,
open the Customers dialog, select the
customer you want to delete, and click Delete above the Customers list. In response to
the confirmation message that opens, click Yes.
To delete an individual contact, open the Customers
dialog and select the customer whose contact you want to delete. Switch
to the Contacts tab, select the contact you want to delete, and click
Delete above the
Associated Contacts list. In response to the confirmation message that
opens, click Yes.
