Use the Software Package dialog to add a new software package.
Fields
Name |
Type the name of the software package (up to 255 characters). |
Description |
Type a description of the software package (up to 1024 characters). |
Prerequisite Config |
(Optional) If applicable, select one or more configurations required for this package to be successful. (See Working with defined configurations for information on defining configurations.) |
Resulting Configuration |
(Optional) Select the configuration that will result from installing this package. |
Install Type |
Select Automatic or Manual as the type of installation. Use manual installation for packages that cannot be run automatically, such as a package installer that requires user input. |
Package File Name |
To add a file to the software
package, click Add |
Commands |
For each specific command, type the applicable command (or other instruction such as a text string). For a detailed discussion on commands, see Installer plug-ins and package installation commands. |
Device Types |
Here are listed all devices types, with the current device type’s check box already selected. Select the check box for each additional device type to which this software package pertains. NOTE: You are allowed to clear the check box for the current device type. Be aware, however, that after you save the software package and return to the Software Packages dialog, the software package will not be listed due to the context. Just close the dialog, change the context to the device type associated with the software package, and reopen the dialog; you will then see the new software package. |
