Use the Manage alerts task on the Action pane's Service panel to acknowledge and close the alerts for which you are responsible. Selecting this task opens the Alerts dialog, from which you can select one or more alerts to manage. If the context is Group view, the Alerts dialog lists all alerts for the group. If the context is Device view, it lists only those alerts for that device.
Filtering the list of alerts on the Alerts dialog
You can acknowledge a single alert or multiple alerts at the same time.
|
Alerts for a given device are sent to all the Questra IDM Application Suite users who are owners of the groups to which the device belongs. You should acknowledge an alert when you plan to address the condition that is reported in order to communicate to your co-workers that you are handling the issue as well as to avoid potential escalation of the alert. |
To acknowledge one or more alerts
On the Action pane's Service
panel, select Manage alerts.
The Alerts dialog opens, listing all
alerts for the selected group or device.
Select the alert(s) you want to acknowledge. (Use Shift-click or Ctrl-click to select multiple alerts.)
Click Acknowledge Alert(s) .
The Acknowledge Alerts dialog
opens, listing the selected alert(s) at the top.
By default, the alert is assigned to you. To select
a different user, click Search to open the Search
dialog, where you can search for a different user.
In the Notes box, type any notes that will be pertinent to you and your co-workers about your plan to handle the alert(s).
Click Acknowledge Alerts.
Filtering the list of alerts on the Alerts dialog
You may find that the list of alerts shown on the Alerts dialog is very long. Although you can scroll through the list to find those you want to acknowledge or close, you can also filter the list to alerts of a specific status and/or within a given date range.
To filter the list of alerts to be managed
On the Action pane's Service
panel, select Manage alerts.
The Alerts dialog opens, listing all
alerts for the selected group or device.
Switch to the Filter tab.
To filter by status, select a status from the Status drop-down list. For instance, to filter the list to show all active alerts (Pending, Sent, and Submitted), select Active.
To filter by date, type or select a start date and end date.
When ready, click Search.
After a moment, the Alerts dialog returns to the Alerts tab, where
it lists the matching alerts. (If there are no matching alerts, the tab
is blank.)
Once you have cleared the condition that originally triggered an alarm on a device, you should close out the associated alert. You can close more than one alert at the same time.
To close out one or more alerts
On the Action pane's Service
panel, select Manage alerts.
The Alerts dialog opens, listing all
alerts for the selected group or device.
